Guest House-Hotel in Nardò
The two Retreats we propose to you are housed in two historic, fully renovated “Palazzi”, now transformed into contemporary residential guesthouses with art as their cornerstone.
This wellspring of inspiration in Nardò, Salento, boasts strikingly diverse and extraordinary aesthetics. The city, well off the beaten tourism path, offers a refreshingly new concept for holidays and getaways. The renovation of the buildings were spurred by the desire to bring about change without altering the premises pre-existing architectural identity. The guesthouses see idleness as a mark of character, knowing that a journey is for taking one’s time, enjoying well-being, hospitality and life’s pleasures, large and small.
Guests have the great pleasure of admiring the works of the owner’s private collection while strolling through the buildings or sleeping in the rooms, creations by some of the most celebrated contemporary artists and up-and-coming talents. These works also include books, vinyl records, antiques. Some of the famous names represented in this establishment, to name but a few, are Claudine Drai, Kay Kurbing, François Dautresme, Ico Parisi, Gio Ponti, Charles Garnier, Paolo Buff, Alvar Aalto, Aino Aalto, Tobia Scarpa, Jérôme Faillant Dumas, Guerrino Tramonti, Tapio Wirkkala, Ettore Sottsass, Gianfranco Frattini, Ferdinando Pogliani, Michèle Chaste, Laurence Bonnel, Man Ray, Geneviève Claisse, and Ada Mazzei.
At the relaxed pace that defines Salento, guests of these Retreats will enjoy the wind, the sea, the traditions and the scents of a synesthetic land. A far-off place within easy reach, one of Baroque cathedrals and chateaux, farms and craftspeople plying their trade in their workshops, villages and countryside, olive groves and vineyards reflecting the changing seasons. Your walks by the sea, among the stones and olive groves, will fill your heart with an abundance of beauty and inspiration.
