A 1920s garden villa hidden behind a gate on a private lane in central Milan, Casa Osti unfolds across three floors and six bedrooms, offering a rare sense of seclusion within the rhythm of the city. Here, light becomes the measure of time — moving slowly across the seminato floors in the morning, resting high on cool marble at noon, then catching on velvet as the last rays filter through the magnolia.

There is a quiet patience to the house, a stillness that is felt before it is understood. Rooms invite an open book, an afternoon without plans, a long lunch that becomes cocktails in the garden. Nothing feels staged; everything feels collected over time.

Chinoiserie meets Venetian stucco, restrained Danish design sits alongside marble softened by decades of use. Each element carries its own history and character. Nothing was chosen to match, yet everything belongs. The result is less an interior than a conversation between cultures, materials and eras — a collector’s home shaped by curiosity rather than decoration.

Currently the Milanese residence of Danish design brand New Works, Casa Osti is conceived not as a house to be preserved, but as one to be inhabited. Bare feet on warm floors, doors opening onto the garden, books left where they were read, conversations extending late into the evening.
