Casa Oliveto
Surrounded by olive trees and fruit orchards, Casa Oliveto stands on a gentle rise among the hills near Pescara, in the heart of Abruzzo. Built in 2008 by Rosa, an architect who shaped the house with deep respect for the land and its natural rhythms, the house has the warmth and soul of a truly lived-in home. Together with her daughter Silvia, she welcomes guests into an atmosphere where thoughtful design, nature and genuine hospitality come together in perfect balance. Casa Oliveto is a place created for rest, shared meals and a slower way of living, surrounded by beauty and simplicity.
The house is arranged over two floors and offers three bedrooms, each with a king-size bed or twin configuration and a private en-suite bathroom. Two bedrooms are located on the upper floor and one on the ground floor, all with direct access to the terrace or garden. Every space has been carefully designed, with stone floors, wooden ceilings, handcrafted details and a selection of antique pieces that create an atmosphere that feels both elegant and familiar. On the ground floor, a bright living area opens seamlessly to the outdoors and is furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs. The modern, fully equipped kitchen connects naturally to the dining room, which seats up to ten guests and invites long, convivial meals. Upstairs, large windows frame views of the olive trees and fill the rooms with the soft light of the countryside. A laundry room, air conditioning throughout the house and Wi-Fi make Casa Oliveto ideal for longer stays.
Outside, the house opens onto a landscape of olive trees and open skies. The large garden, planted with centuries-old trees, offers a peaceful setting for walks, reading or simply enjoying the silence. The covered terrace is perfect for breakfast in the morning or dinner at sunset, overlooking the olive grove and the gentle outline of the mountains beyond. The property extends over five hectares of organically cultivated land and is entirely enclosed, ensuring privacy while maintaining a deep connection with nature. A friendly outdoor dog lives on the property and can be kept separate if preferred.
Casa Oliveto was conceived as a dialogue between architecture and landscape, where clean, modern lines meet traditional materials to create a natural continuity with the surrounding land. Every detail, from furniture choices to colors and textures, reflects the care and sensitivity of those who built and continue to look after this home. The result is a space that feels balanced, authentic and filled with light.
Cooking and sharing time together are at the heart of life here. The kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cooking, and guests may request a private chef, local grocery deliveries or olive oil tastings from the estate’s own production. Summer evenings invite long dinners under the porch, while mornings unfold slowly, surrounded by nature and quiet. A small independent annex on the property houses the owner’s mother and au pair, ensuring complete privacy and discretion for guests.
Casa Oliveto is located in Spoltore, just five minutes from the village and ten to fifteen minutes from Pescara and the Adriatic coast. Pescara Airport and the train station are both only ten minutes away, with direct connections to Rome, Milan, Bologna, Frankfurt, Brussels, Barcelona, Prague and many other destinations. From here, it is easy to explore Abruzzo’s diverse landscapes, from the Trabocchi Coast and the Via Verde cycling route to the Majella National Park and the medieval villages of Rocca Calascio and Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Known as the greenest region in Europe, Abruzzo brings together sea and mountains, ancient traditions and exceptional craftsmanship, from the handmade pasta of Fara San Martino to the sugared almonds of Sulmona and the ceramics of Castelli. Casa Oliveto is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature and rediscover the simple beauty of time well spent.
