Villa della Genga

Villa della Genga

In 1673, in a secluded and unspoiled corner of Umbria, this Villa was built, originally serving as the hunting lodge of Cardinal Annibale della Genga, who, in 1823, ascended to the papacy as Pope Leo XII.

Today, the annex buildings have been meticulously restored to offer elegant and comfortable accommodations. Guests can enjoy the pool and the enchanting 300-hectare estate, which is dotted with olive groves, fields, and centuries-old woods.

The Country Houses are situated in the surrounding countryside near the picturesque village of Poreta and are part of the vast Villa della Genga estate. These homes have been carefully restored, blending traditional architecture with modern interiors. Particular attention has been paid to the choice of materials to preserve the authenticity of the location, while the interiors reflect the captivating landscape of Spoleto, from which colors and materials have been inspired. The pool (18 x 8 meters) is naturally oxygenated, without the use of chemicals, and the Villa is also renowned for producing exquisite organic olive oil.

La Colombaia

A brick staircase leads to the first floor and then to the dovecote: a tower where original and modern architecture come together to create a space of extraordinary beauty.

Il Grottone

A grand arch frames a stone wall, within which a monumental fireplace is supported by two columns. This expansive open space allows for the appreciation of the contrast between modern and ancient architecture: on one side, the steel island kitchen; on the other, the crystal dining table. The entrance, which opens to the living room, leads to the terraced garden. On the same floor, there is a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a small storage room. Outside, the terraced garden is equipped with a dining table, chairs, umbrella, and barbecue. The elevated stairs lead to a gallery, which serves as an office, and a second bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
