A few steps on Via della Luna, among the typical “red houses”, in the shade of the majestic and powerful plane trees during the day or in the light of the white moon at night: this is enough to start an unforgettable experience, at Santa Lucia di Maccarese. Santa Lucia was born from the idea of creating a place with a romantic, intimate and suspended atmosphere, to savor the pleasure of country life and get in touch with the earth through the five senses, where you can fall in love with the flavors, smells, colors and people in an atmosphere of authenticity and well-being. Santa Lucia has chosen beauty as an expression of balance and harmony: it is a place that wants to be out of this world, that wants to drag us away from the frenzy of everyday life, to rediscover the slow and spontaneous rhythms of nature, to reconnect with ourselves and with the environment that surrounds us.

Santa Lucia was born in Maccarese, a few kilometers from the capital, in the heart of the territory of the Roman countryside, a territory whose history is described by the white farm roads, the tree-lined rows windbreak, the drainage canals and the characteristic agricultural centers of the early ‘900, the “red farmhouse houses”.

Santa Lucia belongs to the organic farm Tenuta Terre dell’Agro. The attention of the farm towards the environment has guided the entire recovery project of Santa Lucia, carried out according to the principles of bio-architecture. With the same attention and sense of responsibility towards the environment and towards future generations, the company has approached renewable energy thanks to an area of 232 square meters of photovoltaic panels that self-produce about 57 MWh per year, equal to 100% of the needs. Even hot water is produced thanks to the 18 square meters of collectors for solar thermal. There is also a charging station for electric vehicles in the parking lot of the structure.

A few steps from the agricultural residence we find the “Orti Santa Lucia”: about 6000 square meters of land. Here, the organic production of the company is born, largely destined to the cuisine of Santa Lucia and for which it represents the main source of supply of raw materials such as vegetables and vegetables, aromatic herbs and spices, in order to savor the sincere taste of freshly harvested products of the earth.

The gastronomic proposal of the beautiful Restaurant has a deep bond with the territory and is characterized by the products of the garden and the raw materials of the territory, selected through careful research of local producers, chosen for quality and ethics, in order to create a virtuous network.

The cellar of Santa Lucia does not want to be the simple cellar of a kitchen but La Cantina, with its own identity and with the aim of making known the world of wine, and Lazio in particular, through a vast selection. Many labels come from the region, from native Lazio vines such as Cesanese, Violone, Nero Buono and Malvasia puntinata, just to name a few!

Santa Lucia has 8 rooms including 3 suites. The rooms are equipped with a home automation system for energy saving. In the same green perspective, in the bathroom of the rooms there is no Welcome Kit, which can still be requested at the reception. Each of the rooms has its own relationship with the outside world and its colors.

A secluded area of the garden is intended to house a small spa, custom-designed for Santa Lucia. A sauna and a Turkish bath made of two small twin “cubes”, in corten and glass, two small design objects. To complete the path a Finnish wood-burning tub with hydromassage. A small space for relaxation and well-being to live also and above all from autumn to spring.
