G-Rough Rome

Nest Italy - Design Boutique Hotel in Rome

G-Rough Rome

Tucked away in a 17th century palazzo close to the famous Piazza Navona, this Retreat is a hidden gem in the heart of Rome.

Originally built in the 1600s and renovated in the late 1800s, the Hotel’s more than 400-year-old history provides guests a Roman experience in the truest sense. The five floor, 10-suite boutique hotel blends Baroque grandeur and an intentionally-rough-yet-refined vibe to create a poetic mix of contemporary nostalgic luxury in the Eternal City.

The property – which was previously the Owner’s family home – is as much a living art project as it is a hospitality concept. Contemporary art from the Owner’s personal collection and modern pieces from such iconic Italian designers as Ico Parisi, Guglielmo Ulrich, and Giò Ponti juxtapose the patina of rough-hewn walls, ceiling frescos, rustic flooring, and original beamed ceilings. Instead of a lobby, guests check in at a dramatic wine bar set across a brushed-brass counter with vintage leather armchairs and shimmering mirrored tile walls. Low-key but polished elegance characterizes both the public and private spaces, while distinct personalities define each guest room — some more romantic, others more minimalist — inspired by Italian designers of the 1930s, ‘40s, and ‘50s
