Hotel Goldene Rose
A Refuge Amidst the Glaciers, surrounded by energy. You can feel it all around you. Emanating from the glaciers. Inside the primeval mountains. Held within the mighty silence.
The Refuge, nestled in the village of Certosa in the Senales Valley, is surrounded by an ancient landscape. With the Dolomites just outside the front door, the hotel is flanked by three-thousand-meter peaks. Tranquil larch forests in hues of delicate green and yellow extend as far as the eye can see. Here the mind comes to rest, simply and with ease.
This little patch of earth is like a treasure chest. In the Senales Valley, power and energy builds up in a natural way, helping guests bring the hustle and bustle of everyday life to a screeching halt.
At the Refuge, pure love of life sets the pace. The owners believe in enjoying oneself. Especially when it comes to eating and drinking. The staff is in an ongoing dialogue with their suppliers in order to bring to your table the highest quality seasonal products, locally sourced to the extent possible.
La Dolce Vita – at the Refuge Amidst the Glaciers style.
In the morning they serve a breakfast à la carte with regional specialties.
At lunchtime, guests can choose from a simple à la carte lunch menu and in the evening there is a culinary program to choose from. They offer to all guests with or without half-board various options in the evening: You can either choose a 4-course dinner menu in the restaurant, a casual sharing at the wine bar with selected delicacies to share for everyone at the table, a hearty fondue in the winter season, or a Fine Dining SILENTIUM menu in the Kaminzimmer, a fireside lounge. How you would like to spend your culinary evening is up to your good feeling.
A majority of the wines in the cellar come from South Tyrol’s wine country. Some 20 different grape varieties grow on just under 5,500 hectares throughout the province. The diverse composition of the region’s soil, its microclimatic diversity and, last but not least, extremely competent growers produce wines of the highest quality. Anyone who descends into the vaulted cellar of the former Carthusian monastery can feel the resonance of exquisite wines between the storied walls of the meticulously renovated rooms. The vaulted stone cellar is ideal for storing our exquisite selection of wines from South Tyrol and Italy. Guests are welcome to visit the cellar at any time.
Flickering flames, splashing water and pure fresh air. At the Karthauser Bad, the four elements are palpable in their purest form. An incomparable place to commune with nature, this open-air sauna not only offers a stunning panorama but also connects back to the roots of Nordic sauna culture.
A wooden walkway leads guests, in bathrobes, directly to the Finnish Sauna at treetop height, where the cleansing ritual of perspiration begins. The Earth Sauna is heated with the purest wood sourced right here in the valley. Cooling down is easy in the crystal-clear air of the Senales Valley.
