Hunum is a farm that produces red fruits, honey and chestnuts in Valchiavenna, near Lake Como, Valtellina and the Engadine.

The property is set in a forest of centuries-old chestnut trees at about 800m above sea level.

The principle behind Hunum’s thought is to experience the earth as guests and not as invaders. For this reason the huts are made out of natural materials, alternative energy sources and a rainwater recovery system. For the furnishings, solid wood was preferred, to make them durable over time.

The newest hut H311 is the perfect location for a couple looking for intimacy or a family of up to four. This accommodation offers an extraordinary stay experience, with a harmonious fusion of tradition and modern comfort. The large bedroom, with a double-height ceiling, welcomes all guests with a queen-size bed with certified organic cotton sheets, ensuring a regenerating rest. In the living room, a comfortable sofa bed transforms into an additional relaxation space or additional accommodation for more guests. The large bathroom is an oasis of well-being, equipped with a large shower, a separate toilet area and an exclusive sauna. The sauna is complete with a sound system and ambient lights, offering an experience of total relaxation and luxury. From the bedroom window, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the mountain on the opposite side of the valley. At night, the lack of light pollution allows you to enjoy a unique starry sky, giving moments of magic and contemplation. The hut H311, on two levels, boasts a bright living room that opens onto a large terrace with a tub heated by a wood-burning stove and a table made of a chestnut tree from the Hunum forest. In the room, a space dedicated to remote work allows you to enjoy the beauty of the landscape while working in total tranquility.

The hut H386 is the most intimate of all, it is on two levels. The master bedroom, on the first floor, has a large skylight from which you can admire the stars during the clear summer nights. From the window you can admire the Pizzo di Prata that rises majestically on the opposite side of the valley. The living room with kitchen, and the bathroom with a refined design, are located on the ground floor and overlook the private garden, equipped with a wooden platform with gazebo and a tub with water heated by a wood stove.

At Hunum, art, design and nature come together for a unique experience, without forgetting food! The kitchen is ready to satisfy your culinary desires, accompanied by a unique chestnut lager beer, or a bottle of wine from the cellar.

Menarola is located in the Rhaetian Alps, in a very specific strip called “half coast”. This is the climatic zone preferred by the chestnut tree, which reigns supreme in the woods of these parts, giving the passer-by its sweet and nutritious fruits. The east-southeast exposure guarantees a particularly mild climate, ideal for the cultivation of small fruits and bee breeding.

On the opposite side stands the Pizzo di Prata, in all its grandeur, giving a postcard view. Hunum is immersed in the woods, it seems to be framed in the foliage of chestnut and birch trees. For this reason, despite being only 15 minutes from Chiavenna, it seems to be completely isolated in a wild place.
