Palazzo Luce is the first hotel conceptualised as an art and design house museum. A fourteenth century building with a contemporary twist, located in the ancient heart of Lecce.

Anna Maria Enselmi, a discerning collector with an ambitious project, has brought together designers, artists, architects and gallery owners to create an imaginative and constantly evolving space. The monumental volumes of the historic building and the most contemporary creative forms are in dialogue, magnified by the diffused and sensitive brightness that characterizes the space, inspiring its name.

Palazzo Luce’s different paths lead visitors through a fascinating maze of art rooms, halls, corridors, noble floors, supinne suites, the large terrace, and the shady, green Mediterranean garden with its secret view of the Roman Theatre. Each space is inhabited by unique works of art and design created by artists in a living and luminous dimension.

Annamaria Enselmi has been a lifelong admirer of Gio Ponti and the rare furnishings, unique pieces and graphic files she has collected over the years are a continuous source of inspiration for the creative polyphony of Palazzo Luce. The architectural project of the interiors, curated by Giuliano Dell’Uva / Giuliano Andrea Dell’Uva Architetti and Storage Associati, interprets the work in a contemporary style, giving voice to the Mediterranean soul of the Milanese designer.

Palazzo Luce also features historical pieces by Ettore Sottsass, Hans-Agne Jakobsson, Osvaldo Borsani, Carlo Mollino, Max Ingrand, Ignazio Gardella, and many more. Contemporary design works by Martino Gamper, Antonio Marras, Brigitte Niedermair, Konstantin Grcic, Nao Matsunaga, Bruno Gambone and others also add to the eclectic mix. Works of art by Marina Abramovich, William Kentridge, Ugo Mulas, Thomas Ruff, Mimmo Jodice and Vanessa Beecroft, Alfredo Jaar, Joseph Kosuth, Gilberto Zorio, Ettore Spalletti, Luca Monterastelli, Gianmaria Tosatti – to name a few – and site-specific interventions by David Tremlett, Giuliano Dal Molin, Marzia Migliora and Michele Guido complete the unique experience.
