The Giardino Grande is located in the countryside of Parabita, in the Salento hinterland, a few kilometers from the wonderful town of Gallipoli, famous for its golden beaches and crystal clear sea. This is an oasis of peace, the perfect spot to discover the popular Apulian hospitality, the slow breath of nature, and the charm of a refined and essential design.

The estate, dated back to the second half of the 19th century, was used as a summer residence by a well-known aristocratic family of Parabita. It was nicknamed the Casino — a term indicating the residences located in some feudal districts and used as leisure to relax and escape. Such constructions were made of local stone, characterized by particular vaulted ceilings and large gardens enjoyed during the free time.

The careful restoration was driven by a clear goal, maintaining and preserving the essence of this special place whilst creating something new and unspoiled. The outcome is an elegant and unique Dimora where the past meets contemporary design. Il Giardino Grande is thus the perfect home for all travelers that admire aesthetics and are passionate about art.

Characterized by a typical layout, the local gardens are the access point to the Dimora. Walking along the colonnade topped by arches, guests breathe the scents of roses and jasmines shaping a sky of colorful flowers.

A centenary olive tree, icon of rebirth and life, has majestically reigned in the courtyard that connects the two souls of the Dimora — the old and the new one. Protected by walls made of carparo and paved with the traditional Soleto stone, it is a perfect venue for private and exclusive events.

An enclosed garden, is the intimate and reserved space where breakfast is served from 8:00am to 10:00am. Featuring a selection of fresh local products and cakes prepared daily by the chef, the breakfast offers guests the opportunity to taste the Apulian cuisine delicacies.

The Mediterranean Swimming Pool is the ideal place to relax during hot summer days surrounded by young olive trees and an enchanting nature. The swimming pool is for guests’ exclusive use from 10:00am to 7:00pm and features a cozy Pergola Bar where guests can enjoy light bites like paninis, salads, salumi and cheeses paired with a chilled glass of local wine.

The Church with its ancient altar and the enchanting vaulted ceilings make this environment a secret place where guests can read a book or relax while tasting a coffee. Its privacy allows to arrange private dinners or symbolic ceremonies. The ideal setting for unforgettable memories.

The 6 rooms have been faithfully renovated following the features of the late 19th century country houses. They are named after the trees and plants that enrich the gardens. The Salento uniqueness is given by the presence of the traditional vaulted ceilings and by the cocciopesto—an ancient flooring technique dating back to the Romans. They are located on the ground and first floor that all enjoy a view over the courtyards or the surrounding greenery. There are three rooms that have spacious terraces to admire the countryside and its bewitching colors during the day.
