Borgo Silentio is that place that feels like a “home away from home“, just 15 minutes by car from Ostuni.

It was born from the dream of Luca and Valentina, both with a long career in the fashion industry, residing in Milan, who decided to change their lives and embrace a “slower” lifestyle. A beautiful family, also made up of one children and two dogs.

Thus Borgo Silentio was born, a collection of 3 accommodation facilities: Masseria Silentio, Trullo Silentio and soon La Selvaggia.

“In addition to the collection of villas and suites, the Silentio world is also completed by a lifestyle brand on sale in our concept store, Officine Silentio, in the heart of Ostuni. From our knowledge of the world of fabrics, prints and craftsmanship, we have created a collection of clothing, accessories and home decor created thanks to the savoir-faire of expert craftsmen from all over the world, who use ancient and precious craft techniques” say the two owners.

Masseria Silentio

The main body of the structure, of modern and comfortable restructuring, is obtained from the part that survived the centuries of an ancient 18th century farmhouse: in addition to the ancient key stones, the arches of the veranda and the small family chapel, deconsecrated, remain as evidence of this together with the well in front which was used not only for the collection of water, but also as a baptismal font for the new born of the village.

Inside, the renovation has made it possible to obtain two large double bedrooms, the master bedroom with en suite bathroom, a living room with a splendid fireplace from the time of construction of the house, the very special kitchen because it was created inside the ancient deconsecrated chapel, a dining room in the bright veranda and a second sitting area for reading.

Outside, the house has a patio with a large dining table and relaxation corner, a 120sqm roof terrace with a large table for dinners illuminated by the summer moon and a sofa corner for aperitifs at sunset. The farm is completed by a luxuriant garden and a long colonnade with plants and vines for pleasant evenings and even dancing parties.

Inside the property there is the Trullo Castelluccio. This ancient 5-cone trullo from the end of the 18th century was the ancient home of the farmers who lived in front of the Massaro’s house and worked in its countryside.
The renovation of this trullo has allowed the owners to obtain a house completely independent from the structure of the Masseria, with an alcove double bed in exposed stone, a lovely living room with two additional beds, a spacious kitchen / dining area equipped with all the comforts and with the old renovated fireplace that warmed the ancient autumn evenings and a lovely bathroom all made of stone and earthenware with a spacious masonry shower. Externally, in addition to the ancient oven that the peasants used to make bread and focaccias, the house is also completed by a very romantic and secluded pergola for dinners in privacy, enjoying the scents of the summer garden and the company of the centenary olive trees that chisel the whole property.

In front of the trullo and to the side of the Masseria there is the 40sqm swimming pool with solarium area and sunbeds.
The swimming pool is for the exclusive use of the structure.
The entire property, which is entirely fenced, is located within a 10,000 square meter garden with olive, almond, fig, prickly pear and other fruit trees.

Trullo Silentio

The whole estate consists of one ancient “ Saracen” or “Ostunian” trullo dating to the XVIII century all restored in his original stone inside and outside, an ancient lamia built during the XIX century, and a new lamia added in 2017 built in the purest typical apulian style. The entire house inside measures 100 sq/mt and you can consider during spring, summer and autumn a 40 sq/ mt plus covered porch. Facing the house there is a swimming pool of 40 sq/mt and all is immersed in 8.000 sq/mt of countryside full of almond trees, olive trees, flowers and spices.

In the inside the house is fully equipped with all necessary for a classic 4/6 persons holiday home, and decorated in the typical apulian ancient country masseria style, with a master double bedroom inside the trullo, a double bedroom with stone barrel vault in tuff stone in the new lamia, a beautiful typical bathroom all in stone with a shower and the washing machine, a kitchen with a big fridge, the gas cooker, the oven, the dishwasher, and a very large sitting and dining room with a typical stone chimney. The sofa in the sitting room when necessary can be easily transformed into a double bed, or two twin single beds.

Outside the house you’ll find also a further open air shower, very practical when you want to refresh during the summer days.

All the guest can have entire access to the house and the garden, the property is entirely and exclusively at your private disposal.
