The Art of Hospitality in the Heart of Cortina d’Ampezzo

My arrival at the Dolomiti Lodge, accompanied by the bright red of the Dolomite rocks at sunset was magical and exciting, as was the sense of space and freedom that the location inspires… with a spectacular view of the Tofane and the Ampezzo valley, heritage of so much beauty!

Already the view of the restaurant on the outdoor terrace makes you want to have lunch in the sun while enjoying the specialties of the Ampezzo cuisine of the ALVERA’ family. It is right then to speak of the great passion that unites the Alverà brothers, owners of the Dolomiti Lodge but also of the historic refuge with restaurant Ospitale that have always been synonymous with haute cuisine of the territory and which, together with their talented mother, they conducted with success and passion. Passion that you breathe everywhere at newly Dolomiti Lodge.

At the restaurant I was able to savor their fantastic Spatzle, the pork fillet with the legendary “potatoes all’ampezzana”, always a must along with the many other typical dishes and delicious desserts.
To combine it all, the wide choice of wines from large selected wineries.

When it was time to retire to the Suite reserved for me, I finally felt like it was a perfect “Nest”: warm and welcoming in the choice of blond wood, in the refined but extremely functional and modern design furniture, in the details created to offer relaxation and pleasant and satisfying sleep. I would define the Dolomiti Lodge “a home away from our home“, made of refinement, luxury and elegance.. all essential ingredients for a pleasant stay.

The hotel consists of ten rooms including deluxe suites, junior suites, deluxe double rooms and the real “gem”, an entire 250sqm chalet called “Chalet Serge” that can accommodate up to seven people.. another wonderful luxury “nest” with all the services and the care of the hotel.

I find that expanding the hotel offer in this way and with this diversification brings it and qualifies it among the top of Cortina.
All accompanied by competent and very kind staff, attentive to all customer needs and requests.

Finally the next day, after a very pleasant breakfast in the room on the private terrace overlooking the Tofane, I head towards the Wellness area.

I immediately find the heated outdoor pool surrounded by greenery in summer and in the snow in winter amazing, combined with the indoor one with hydromassage area. Finnish sauna and hammam. But also a gym and a zero body area.

To overcome the stress of work and the hectic life that we all lead today, I felt the need to relax with a pleasant massage performed by the kind and competent Karen, with a relaxing background music. I felt truly pampered and ready for a few hours of skiing. The Tofana chairlift is about only one kilometer from the Dolomiti Lodge!
